“Of Course He Can Do It” Tony Bellew Predicts Tyson Fury-Oleksandr Usyk Rematch

Oleksandr Usyk and Tyson Fury delivered a heavyweight bout worthy of the rarely seen undisputed championship, with the Ukrainian coming out on top and taking home all four belts.

Despite Fury’s success in the middle rounds, landing some uppercuts that hurt Usyk considerably, the now undisputed champion found a higher gear and scored a thrilling knockdown in the ninth before winning a split decision on the scorecards.

The Brit has now activated his contractual clause for a second fight. Speaking to IFL TV, Bellew said ‘of course’ he has a chance in the rematch.

“No shame in that, and of course he can win the rematch. Any fighter can come back. The mark of a man is how he comes back from defeat.”

Despite that, the former cruiserweight champion who lost to Usyk in his final fight still predicts it will be repeat rather than revenge.

“Based on the last performance, no, you can’t make a call for that. But has he got a chance? 100% … Oleksandr Usyk. What a guy, what a man. The greatest cruiserweight, and let me tell you he’ll go down as one of the greatest heavyweights as well.”

Tyson Fury has already made feelings clear on Deontay Wilder conqueror Zhilei Zhang

Zhilei Zhang‘s star continues to rise after a decisive knockout win over Deontay Wilder – but Tyson Fury has been aware of his talents for some time.

While most boxers tend to fade after 35, Zhang has enjoyed a career resurgence despite being way past that mark already. And the 41-year-old celebrated the biggest result of his career to date following a relentless fifth-round KO of the Bronze Bomber on Saturday.

That result in Riyadh has dramatically opened up Zhang’s prospects, with a potential bout against Anthony Joshua even being touted. However, newly crowned interim IBF heavyweight champion Daniel Dubois is also in that conversation following his own stoppage victory over Filip Hrgovic.

Fury, 35, has his own next fight in the books already after agreeing to rematch Oleksandr Usyk, who took his undefeated record in May. And The Gypsy King paid Zhang hefty praise after previously comparing the two heavyweight rivals.

Speaking to Dev Shani for Queensberry Promotions in September 2023, he said of Zhang: “I think he’s a very tough opponent and he’s a big southpaw punching man. He’s not like Usyk, a feather duster jibbing and jabbing around the ring. This man is trying to take your brains out. He’s 6ft 6in and twenty stone. He’s a very different customer and very dangerous.”

That same “feather duster” disproved that theory to a large extent after scoring a split-decision win over Fury in Saudi Arabia. However, his appraisal of 27-2-1 Zhang could be more accurate given Joshua, 34, appears to be leaning away from the Chinese star.

AJ was being teed up for a cross-Atlantic clash with Wilder, but that bout now looks impossible given the 38-year-old has lost four of his last five fights. Instead, he appeared more open to an all-British affair against countryman Dubois.

“I’ve got to pick them off one by one. It’s not going to be easy, but that’s my mentality,” said Joshua in light of his new prospects. “So come one, come all.… He [Dubois] has worked his way up the ladder, we’ll see what happens in the near future.”

Perhaps former world champion Joshua has even seen Fury’s assessment of Zhang and taken heed of those words. Not that the knockout merchant’s latest big victory wasn’t enough to send a very clear message regarding the threat he poses.

Tyson Fury says he is preparing for “an absolute battle royale” against Francis Ngannou.
The WBC heavyweight champion will fight the former UFC heavyweight title holder on October 28, live on TNT Sports Box Office.
Fury’s last fight was in December 2022 when he defeated Derek Chisora in a trilogy rematch, while Ngannou is making his bow in professional boxing after temporarily stepping away from MMA.
The 35-year-old declared that he was “still fat”, but cut a svelte figure compared to his usual out-of-competition appearance, and told DAZN that he was taking the forthcoming bout as seriously as any other fight.
Fury was asked how his preparation was going, and he answered: “Camp’s good, I’ve been training for nine weeks unstopped. I don’t leave any stones unturned, ever, that’s why I’ve been undefeated for 15 years, so pretty good.”
The Briton is the heavy favourite, but Fury believes that given the power behind Nagnnou’s blows and the success he has had in MMA, there is plenty of risk.

He explained: “Let’s put it this way, if I go to the boozer in a minute, and I get a bit cheeky, and a big old lump swings at me and hits me, it’s going to hurt me isn’t it? Never mind an absolute killer like Ngannou.
“The man’s had 20 fights, he’s going from homeless to being world champion in six years, so I don’t underestimate anyone like that.
“I take him 100% seriously, I’m training as hard for him as I did for [Deontay] Wilder, [Wladimir] Klitschko, anyone. I’ve got to do my job, there’s no foregone conclusions.
“I don’t count my chickens before they hatch. Every man has to be respected and gets credit for stepping in that ring.
“If it’s anything less than an absolute war, it’ll be an easy night, but I’m preparing for an absolute battle royale.”

Deontay Wilder has had his say on the upcoming undisputed world heavyweight title fight between Tyson Fury and Oleksandr Usyk, and the American believes that there will be one clear winner.

Wilder has previous experience facing Fury after the pair were involved in one of the best trilogies in recent memory. But the “Bronze Bomber” failed to overcome the Brit in any of these encounters after the first was drawn before being stopped by Fury in the two that followed.

While his next move is unknown, Wilder will have a keen eye on Fury vs. Usyk, and he believes the current WBC world heavyweight champion’s size will prove too much for the slick Ukrainian.

“Fury’s size is what makes him gain more success. When I see him against Usyk I see how they cheated [Steve] Cunningham with that clubbing, putting his weight on him and clubbing him, and I could see him doing the same thing with Usyk, putting his weight on him,” Wilder told Fight Hub TV.

“I do think Usyk has more skill, but when it comes to the size and stuff I don’t think he’ll be able to compete with the size of Fury. But who know’s that’s just my opinion.”

A date for Fury vs. Usyk is yet to be announced, but it has been confirmed that the fight will take place in Saudi Arabia.

While some fans look forward to seeing World Boxing Council (WBC) heavyweight champion Tyson Fury in the ring with boxing legend Mike Tyson one day, chances are it might never happen.

Tyson Fury, 35, seems to have a different opinion about a fight between him and Mike Tyson, no matter how legendary the fight may sound to fans.

During an interview, Fury discussed the legend he was named after and shared that he thinks that a fight between both icons of the boxing world is a “lose-lose situation”.

Fury said: “I would have loved to share the ring with him and move around. But if he had won, then people would have said I was rubbish because a 53-year-old beat me. If I had beaten him, then I would have been a bully.

“It was a lose-lose situation for me. It was money; I didn’t need to fight a man past his best.”

Instead, Fury, “The Gypsy King”, fought Deontay Wilder again. He defeated Dillian Whyte and, more recently, Derek Chisora again.

A clash with Oleksandr Usyk fell apart despite the Ukrainian bowing to Fury’s contract stipulations more than once.

However, in contrast, Tyson hasn’t fought or even seemed to have another event in his locker since the Jones stalemate. Training videos still pop up now and again, but there’s no real sense that Tyson will want another exhibition, WBN reported.

His first attempt made 1.5 million sales and cracked the Top 10 United States Pay Per Views. But it left a bad taste in Tyson’s mouth after falling out with Triller.

Tyson’s latest video teases another exhibition, with old foes Lennox Lewis and Evander Holyfield linked to filling a Pay Per View void.

He again enters the lion’s den with Fury in the opposite corner as he coaches Francis Ngannou.

Mike Tyson gives blunt six-word reponse to Tyson Fury’s claim he’s going against him by training Francis Ngannou

MIKE TYSON has given a blunt response to Tyson Fury’s disappointment with his decision to coach Francis Ngannou.

Iron Mike has teamed up with the former UFC heavyweight champion ahead of his controversial crossover clash with the Gypsy King next month.

Fury was left saddened by Tyson – whom he was named after – opting to plot his downfall in the Saudi showdown – but the boxing veteran couldn’t care less.

The former undisputed heavyweight champion told TNT Sports: “This is business, and he understands.”

Ngannou’s martial arts journey began with boxing but he was convinced to try his hand at mixed martial arts by his former coach Fernand Lopez.

The Cameroonian clubber – who has never boxed in a professional capacity – has won 70 per cent of his MMA fights via brutal knockout.

MIKE TYSON

And Tyson believes The Predator has the skill set to give Fury a real run for his money.

He said: “I think he’s gonna do very well.

“Listen, it’s all experience, he’s fighting, he just has to remember not to use his feet, which he never really did actually.

“He’s a real power puncher. Real fast for a big guy, 260[lbs].

“I just think he’s gonna do better than most people believe.”

Fury and Ngannou’s Saudi slugfest will be a professionally sanctioned bout, although the former’s WBC heavyweight title won’t be on the line.

Wythenshawe warrior Fury, 35, will enter the ten-rounder on the back of a one-sided beatdown of fellow Brit Derek Chisora last December.

Ngannou, meanwhile, goes into the lucrative showdown following a 21-month layoff after his final defence of the UFC heavyweight throne against Ciryl Gane at UFC 270.
