It’s another win for Charlie Woods as dad Tiger Woods is spotted ahead of US Open.

Tiger Woods was spotted out on the golf course watching his young cub Charlie Woods chalk up another victory on the Hurricane Junior Tour at the weekend.

Charlie, competing in the Boys 14-15 Division, won by a commanding eight strokes in the 36-hole tournament in Royal Palm Beach, Florida.

He shot a total of 1-under par, finishing well clear of Noah Manly on 7-over par.

Luke Friend finished third on 8-over par.

Charlie’s father Tiger Woods is an investor of the Hurricane Junior Tour.

Woods, who remains on the sidelines since undergoing ankle surgery after The Masters, was spotted sat in a golf cart watching his son in action.

Charlie Woods

The former World No.1 last competed at Augusta National but was forced out through injury during his third round.

He then underwent a “successful” ankle surgery”.

The latest photo of Woods in a cart was posted by Ella_Golf_ on Instagram and then shared by the popular TWLegion account on Twitter.

Taking a closer look at the snap of Woods, and you can see he is still wearing a boot.

Woods will not be competing in next week’s US Open and he will more than likely be out of The Open at Royal Liverpool in July, too.

It is believed Woods is more than likely going to miss the rest of the PGA Tour season, but that is yet to be confirmed.

It also remains to be seen whether Woods will have any team presence at the Ryder Cup this September.

Woods will be hopeful of being able to tee it up with Charlie in the annual father-son PNC Championship in December.

Fifteen-time major champion Tiger Woods was recently spotted playing golf at the Florida Golf Club with his son Charlie. The duo played a few shots last Saturday, August 19.

A golf fan account @tiendogolf posted a video of them from the golf course on his Tiktok account. In the clip, Tiger was playing golf while his son was waiting for his turn.

Tiger Woods last played at the Masters earlier this year and has been away from the golf course due to his injuries. He underwent ankle surgery soon after the major tournament in April.

His leg seemed fine as it was evidenced in the video shared by the fan on TikTok, giving hope to the people that he will soon be back on the golf course.

TWLEGION reshared the video on its Twitter account with a caption saying:

“Tiger hits the course to watch son Charlie. Golf clothes on. The comeback continues.”

Fans jumped into the comments section to talk about Woods’ comeback. A fan wrote:

“Soon.”

“Celebrating TW golf attire. It’s a win, I reckon? Lol,” another one wrote.

We’re on to the Hero,” another fan reckoned.

Earlier this month, Tiger Woods was spotted walking fine at a junior championship while he was cheering for Charlie in Florida.

Tiger Woods and Charlie Woods

Tiger Woods and Charlie Woods might play at the 2023 PNC Championship

The legendary golfer enjoys playing golf with his 14-year-old son. He never misses an opportunity to cheer for him or practice a few shots with him.

Tiger played in the previous three editions of the PNC Championship and finished second once. Last year, the American developed plantar fasciitis before the tournament but still played in the competition. Possibly, he will return to with compete his son at this year’s PNC Championship, which will take place in December.

In 2020, Tiger Woods spoke about playing with Charlie in an interview with PGA Tour. Woods said that he really can’t describe the experience of sharing the golf course with his son in words. For him, it’s memories to cherish for a lifetime.

“I don’t think words can describe it. Just the fact that we were able to have this experience together, Charlie and I. It’s memories for a lifetime,” he said.

The American golfer went on to explain how he was when he was of Charlie’s age. Tiger added:

“Well, I didn’t have speed like that at that age. I was probably a little bit taller than Charlie is at that same age. I was skinny as a rail. I looked like a 1-iron. The way we move, the way we push off or — sorry, the way he pushes off, or how I used to push off, very similar.”

Tiger Woods’ appearance on the golf field has piqued the interest of fans. However, Tiger stated last year that he would only play in major events, and all four majors were completed last month.

Woods may now return to play in the Hero World Challenge, which is arranged by the golfer himself, or he may return in December at the PNC Championship.

Tiger Woods and Rory McIlroy’s highly anticipated golf venture, TGL, has welcomed a new team, bought by Arthur Blank, co-founder of Home Depot and owner of the NFL’s Atlanta Falcons. Dick Sullivan, CEO of the PGA Tour Superstore, has been appointed as the team’s CEO.

Blank isn’t the first to purchase a team in the much-anticipated tech-infused league. Before him, the Williams sisters bought Los Angeles Golf Club, and Fenway Sports Group will own TGL Boston. Blank’s team will be Atlanta-themed with black and red branding.

Blank was quoted as saying via ESPN:

“We’re into golf significantly now with PGA Tour Superstore, so that’s the prime motivation. We have a great relationship with the tour itself. They would probably tell you we’re one of the best partners and we would say they are a great partner to us as well. So, this is a way to extend the game of golf.”

Besides the Falcons, Blank also owns the Atlanta United Football Club in Major League Soccer.

For the uninitiated, the 80-year-old entrepreneur was also one of the initial investors in TMRW Sports. TMRW Sports is co-owned by Woods, McIlroy, and sports executive Mike McCarley in collaboration with the PGA Tour.

Sullivan has worked for Blank for over 20 years. Previously, he held the position of executive vice president with the Falcons and subsequently transitioned to the CEO role at PGA Tour Superstore, a venture owned by the Home Depot co-founder.

He was quoted as saying via Golf.com:

Tiger Woods

“You will not walk in our stores in the future and not know about TGL. And not know about this primetime television show. I say this often, ‘sometimes in life you can be involved in evolutionary things and make evolutionary changes.’ This is revolutionary. We love to do revolutionary things.”

TGL format, players, and other details explored

TGL is set to kick off in 2024, with its main objective being to offer an innovative perspective on the game of golf by combining sports and technology.

Palm Beach State College will serve as the venue for the first season of the tech-infused league, and the facility is currently under construction.

The league, formed in partnership with the PGA Tour, will comprise 18 PGA Tour professionals organized into six teams.

Players will engage in virtual matchplay, which will occur within a specially designed short-game complex focused on chipping and putting.

The TGL matches will be played on Monday nights, and there will be 15 regular matches in one season, followed by a post-season to decide the champion. Each match will take place for two hours and consist of an 18-hole game.

Twelve players out of the 18 have officially announced their commitment to the league. Alongside Woods and McIlroy, prominent names like Matt Fitzpatrick, Collin Morikawa, Justin Rose, Max Homa, Adam Scott, Jon Rahm, Justin Thomas, Xander Schauffele, Billy Horschel, and Rickie Fowler have all joined the ranks of the new tech-infused league.

Tiger Woods’ PGA Tour comeback draws closer as he’s spotted on the course with son Charlie Woods.

Tiger Woods was spotted out on the golf course with his son Charlie Woods over the weekend to the delight of millions of golf fans around the world.

The most-recent sighting of Tiger Woods came on Saturday August 19 as he watched his young cub Charlie, 14, in action.

Woods, 47, could be seen in full Nike Golf clothing standing right by a golf cart.

Charlie now competes in the boys’ 14-15 division on the Hurricane Junior Tour. To the surprise of nobody, his father is an investor.

The teenager actually won his latest event, marking his first win in the 36-hole tournament, posting a 1-under total to win by eight strokes.

Woods officially broke his silence over the PGA Tour’s shock merger with the Saudi Public Investment Fund earlier this month.

The 15-time major champion backed under fire commissioner Jay Monahan after he was confirmed as the PGA Tour’s latest policy board member.

Tiger Woods and Charlie Woods

Woods underwent ankle surgery on April 19 just days after withdrawing from The Masters.

He went under the knife in New York to address post-traumatic stress in his right ankle that was caused by the injuries he suffered when he crashed his SUV in the hills of Los Angeles in 2021.

It remains to be seen when Woods will return to PGA Tour action, with some speculating he may be able to make a competitive return at his annual Hero World Challenge in the Bahamas at the end of November.

There is also hope he will be able to peg it up with Charlie at the annual Father-Son PNC Championship in Orlando the week before Christmas.

Some ardent Tiger fans are also hoping he might rock up to support the 2023 US Ryder Cup team at Marco Simone Golf Club in Rome.

The PGA Tour recently revealed its 2024 schedule with some interesting twists including changes to Woods’ event at Riviera.

Tiger Woods has been away from the golf course for the last few months due to an injury, resulting in him missing the US Ryder Cup standings. However, still, golfers have an opportunity to make it to the American team if skipper Zach Johnson picks them.

Woods has been struggling with his injury and has not played since April this year. He competed at the Masters but withdrew after playing a few holes in the third round.

There are slim odds that captain Johnson will select him if he is in good shape these days because there are other golfers, who are in outstanding form and can assist the American team to win the tournament in Rome.

Earlier this year, in a press conference, Zach Johnson spoke about Tiger Woods’ being on the Ryder Cup team. He said that he will consider the legendary golfer only if he is in good form. According to Eurosport, Johnson said:

“I would only contemplate having him on the team if he felt – if he was putting up some numbers and some scores, No. 1, where he’s showing some sign of being competitive. And then No. 2, that discussion would be had with the other guys that are a part of that team, and specifically him.”

The Ryder Cup has 12 members, out of which six are auto-qualified based on their performances, while six will be selected by the captain. Brian Harman, Wyndham Clark, Scottie Scheffler, Max Homa, Patrick Cantlay, and Xander Schaufele have qualified for the US team, while the remaining six will be announced by the captain after next week’s Tour Championship.

Tiger Woods has proved to be an inspiration to many aspiring golfers all around the world. His achievements evoke a sense of respect for the man. But sometimes, there are instances where his records are broken by golfers who aspire to be great in the game and that is exactly what happened when a young prodigy walked on the same path as the GOAT this Sunday.

The young golf phenom managed to achieve a feat that only the legend of the game has attained to date, winning both the US Junior and US Amateur Titles. And the amateur golfer had much to say in regard to the professional golfer which left many surprised and touched. Let’s dive into the story.

Nick Dunlap confesses his admiration for Tiger Woods

Tensions were high at the Cherry Hills Country Club as the 123rd US Amateur Golf Championship reached its climax on Sunday. And Nick Dunlap eventually emerged victorious to take home the title and the Havemeyer trophy and become part of an exclusive company.

Addressing a presser post the feat, Dunlap mentioned how Tiger had been an inspiration to him all throughout his life. “He’s the reason I got into it,” said the amateur golfer while expressing his happiness at winning both tournaments,

Nick went on to talk about how the idea of even comparing his name with the GOAT of golf is something to be proud of. The golfer continued with a lot of pride, “Just to have my name even halfway associated with Tiger who’s the greatest to ever play is the reason I’m playing golf.”

Tiger Woods

Let’s now see how Dunlap played across the tournament to achieve the extraordinary feat and join the likes of the one and only Tiger Woods.

Dunlap’s successful shot to glory

Nick, a sophomore at the University of Alabama, emerged victorious against Ohio State graduate Neal Shipley at the 123rd US Amateur Championship with a 4-3 win. The amateur golfer put up a spectacular display of golf scoring 12 birdies during the match which helped him beat Shipley and lift the cup.

Moreover, Dunlap was also able to place himself at the No. 9 spot in the World Amateur Golf Rankings. He had emerged victorious in the US Amateur Championship in 2021 which set him up nicely for the historical moment that took place last week.

But, while the 19-year-old has only managed to do it once, Tiger had been successful in winning the two tournaments three times each in a span of six years. He bagged three US Junior titles consecutively from 1991 to 1993 and also clinched three US Amateurs from 1994 to 1996. And the young golfer was seemingly humble as well when asked about the same. “Well, I think it’s only a third of what Tiger’s actually done,” he said.

What did you think of his performance at the US Amateur Championship? Will he be able to carry forward the momentum to his next tournament? Share your thoughts below.

Tiger Woods‘ distaste for LIV Golf long predates the $3 Billion merger. He announced an innovative league of his own when the news about the Saudi-backed tour broke ground substantially. Even though Woods and Rory McIlroy‘s TGL isn’t going to be up and running till the beginning of 2024, the anticipation for the tech-based gameplay is extremely palpable.

As a steady competitor to LIV Golf despite the merger with the PGA Tour where Woods sits as a recently-appointed Player Director, the GOAT Golfer does not cease to deliver blows. A new piece of information has shaken the golfing community wherein the legendary golfer’s association with a giant will put LIV Golf in jeopardy.

Who is Tiger Woods’ newest $7 Billion partner?

Since the 3 player team announcement for TGL, sports personalities including tennis star Serena Williams and her husband Alexis Ohanian bought one of the teams. Now, a massive capitalist known in the business world for his keen sense of acquisition has purchased another team on TGL.

The acquisition by Billionaire Arthur Blank is another massive spike in cash flow for the 82-time PGA Tour winner’s brainchild. Blank has formerly invested in two sports leagues before, namely NFL’s Atlanta Falcons and Major League Soccer’s Atlanta United. He has decided to venture into Golf this time to support fellow billionaire Tiger Woods and his groundbreaking league.

Tiger Woods

The CEO of Home Depot has a reputation for his business acumen and this particular partnership with Tiger Woods and Rory McIlroy promises a fruitful future for all parties. Most importantly, Tiger Woods seems to have delivered yet another blow to LIV Golf with this new tie-up.

The unique concept of Tiger Woods’ TGL

The innovative idea that drew the investor of NFL and MLS teams for a substantial investment in a TGL team is truly inspiring. To tackle slow play and unfavorable weather conditions, the legendary golfer has planned to a tee to surpass those drawbacks.

TGL is a tech-based team where groups of three will play against each other on Monday nights. There are talks about the games taking place in major stadiums in the United States. The play will take place on life-size simulators and some of the top players from the PGA Tour are already locked in. The golf world is abuzz with anticipation to see how the virtual play fares against country clubs hosting the royal sport.

There’s no denying that whether he can win or not (it’s obviously more of the latter these days), Tiger Woods is the main attraction at every golf tournament he plays. Well, almost every one, anyway, as his son, Charlie Woods, overshadows his old man once a year at the PNC Championship, the annual exhibition that features pros teaming up with a family member for a fun 36-hole shootout.

And since Charlie made his debut at the event in 2020, he’s become an absolute star. While he may not be as good as Tiger was at that age, the soon-to-be 14-year-old has got plenty of game.

And let’s get real here. While Tiger was certainly well-known as a youngster, Charlie is much more famous than his dad was at that age. For one, times are just different, and there’s so much more media these days. And secondly, Charlie’s dad is a bit more famous than was Tiger’s. With no offense to the late Earl Woods, he wasn’t one of the most popular and recognizable athletes of all time.

With Charlie’s game developing, there has obviously been plenty of talk about his future in professional golf — if he chooses that path, that is. But he’s years away from even being eligible to attempt a career on the PGA Tour.

However, with NIL dollars now being a thing for amateur athletes, it’s not as if Charlie can’t make any of his own money before pursuing a pro career — again — if that’s what he decides to do. And it’s not that the younger Woods needs money, given that his famous father is one of the wealthiest athletes in history.

But if he wants to make his own cash, young Charlie will have to choose not to play golf in high school.

Tiger Woods and Charlie Woods

Why Charlie Woods can’t make NIL money if he plays high school golf

Like the amateur relatives of other famous athletes, specifically Arch Manning or Bronny James, Charlie Woods will likely receive plenty of lucrative NIL offers, perhaps even in the seven-figure range, when he’s eligible. And that day is coming soon as he’s set to start high school next year

Sam Weber, the senior communications director at NIL platform Opendorse, believes many of Tiger’s current sponsors, including Nike, could make offers to capitalize on the famous father-son connection. But there’s a catch.

If Charlie chooses to play golf for his high school team, he wouldn’t be eligible to earn any cash as Florida law doesn’t allow high school athletes to accept NIL money. However, with several junior golf circuits out there these days, the younger Woods has more options than your typical high-school golfer.

So Charlie will have a choice to make, as will Tiger. While he obviously doesn’t have a problem allowing his son to be in the public eye once a year at the PNC, he may not want — or allow — Charlie to accept these inevitable NIL offers anyway. Woods is famously a very private person and may not want to subject Charlie to the pitfalls that come with fame, especially at such a young age.

And, again, it’s not like the Woods family is hurting for money.

So just as it goes with everything else relating to Charlie Woods, we’ll just have to wait and see how this all plays out.

With the name ‘Woods’ the great Tiger’s son Charlie was always going to be tipped for success, and the 14-year-old has more than lived up to the billing after breaking onto the scene at the PNC Championship

Being the child of arguably the greatest golfer to ever play the game was always going to come with plenty of pressure, but 14-year-old son of Tiger Woods, Charlie, has more than lived up to the billing.

There is not a more recognisable name than Tiger’s in the game of golf. With 82 PGA Tpour titles, 15 major championships and a whole host of records, Woods has taken the game to new heights over the past 25 years.

Inevitably though, when the golfing great welcomed his first son Charlie into the world the question on everybody’s lips was ‘is this the next Tiger Woods?’ Quite rightly, Woods has kept the progress of his son private for the majority of life, keeping any pressures that predictably landed off the 14-year-old’s shoulders.

It has only been in the last two years that the 82-time PGA Tour winner has shown the golfing world what his son can do, and what a treat it has been. Speaking in 2020 Woods revealed he and his son had began to start playing consistently with each other out on the course during the Covid-19 pandemic.

Discussing his son’s progress, but keeping his cards close to his chest, the 15-time major winner told Golf TV: “He’s starting to get into it, he’s starting to understand how to play. He’s asking me the right questions. I’ve kept it competitive with his par, so it’s been just an absolute blast to go out there and just, you know, be with him. It reminds me so much of me and my dad growing up.”

Charlie burst onto the scene in 2020 when featuring in the PNC Championship at the father-son competition alongside dad Tiger. The then 11-year-old left golf fans in awe, as he effortlessly mirrored his dad in all areas including their outfits, mannerisms and golf game. In 2020 the Woods duo finished in seventh in the PNC standings, an admirable finish with an 11-year-old on the card.

Tiger Woods and Charlie Woods

A year later, Charlie and dad Tiger came back bigger and stronger and once again stole the show at the father-son event. There were fears that Team Woods were going to miss the event due to injuries sustained by Tiger in a car crash earlier that year.

However, the PNC Championship proved to be the American star’s return, and what better way to do it than alongside his prodigy son. The Woods pairing agonisingly missed out on the title by just two shots, finishing in second behind John Daly and his son John Jr.

The Florida-based event returns this weekend, and there is no doubt Tiger and Charlie will be out to go one better this time around. And this may be their best chance yet, with the youngster’s golf game going from strength to strength. Charlie recently shot his best ever round, carding a four-under-par 64 to secure a place in the Notah Begay III Junior Golf National Championship with dad Tiger on the bag.

But arguably the biggest achievement in the 14-year-old’s incredible rise has been finally outdriving his legendary dad off the tee. Throughout his career, Woods has been known to strike a large ball, with his biggest hit on Tour measuring at a whopping 498 yards back in 2002.

Whilst the 2019 Masters champion is not finding the distance he once did as a younger and fitter player, his length off the tee is still impressive, but 14-year-old Charlie seems to be already battling to match it. Speaking at ‘The Match’ between himself and Rory McIlroy and Justin Thomas, he admitted the youngster finally out-did him off the tee.

Woods commented: “I hate to say it, but I’m going to admit it. He [Charlie] finally did it [outdrove me] a few weeks ago. I spun one, he tomahawked one and got me.”

Tiger’s admission will have only excited fans even more ahead of this week’s event, and this distance has been recognised by tournament organisers, who have moved the youngster two tees further back from where he hit from last year, according to the Golf Channel.

Charlie Woods and Tiger Woods are two of the most popular and celebrated father-son duos in golfing history. Even so, Woods Jr. is on his way to becoming the younger version of his dad. After all, the apple does not fall that far from a tree. His recent performance, wherein he just crushed the field, was perfectly reminiscent of his father’s elite days.

However, that incredible victory is now followed by anguish as the golfer looks ahead to a mountain of a challenge. And this recent hurdle is perhaps one that he may be unable to overcome.

Charlie Woods’ win is followed by a hardship

The young Woods has been playing on the Hurricane Junior Golf Tour for about two years now. He started in 2021 and put up a stellar performance on the course. The 15-time major champion’s son has had 13 Top 10 finishes in the span of two years.

Woods recently emerged victorious in the Hurricane Junior Golf Tour’s Major Championship at Village Golf Course this weekend. He won the 2-day event with a 36-hole major tournament by 8 strokes. His big win was just an echo of what his father used to do during his early days on the PGA Tour. His winning score was shared by a Twitter fan account, Pardon My Take, to congratulate the young golfer. However, not all was going well!

Tiger Woods and Charlie Woods

Despite putting on a stunning show this past weekend at Village Golf Course, the rocky road has not ended for the young star. According to HJGT’s official website, Charlie Woods is ranked in the 16th position for the Player of the Year Award. On top of the rankings sits Armaan Osterman with 6250 points, whereas the 14-year-old has 2983 points. The second runner-up in Florida this weekend, Luke Friend, sits at number 2 in the rankings with 5375 points.

The HJGT has lined up many exciting events for the boys aged 14–15, such as the BallyOwen Junior Open, the Major Championship at Birdsfoot, and so on. With so many upcoming events, will Charlie Woods be able to gain more points and top the chart to become player of the year?

Tiger Woods doesn’t want his son to copy his skills

Every son wishes to be like his father, and so does Charlie. He likes to walk on the course just like his father walks. The 14-year-old not only tries to copy his walking style but also imitates his golfing manners. On the course, from his famous club twirl to his fist pump, Woods Jr. seems just like a smaller version of his father. He even tries to copy his dad’s golf swing, and that’s where Tiger draws the line!

During the NBC broadcast of the 2022 World Hero Challenge, Woods advised his son not to copy his swing because he knew it had changed a lot from his prime days and was now just a shadow of its former self. Instead, the golf legend told Charlie to try and swing more like Rory McIlroy, after all, he was still in prime form! But whether the young golfer takes up his advice is yet to be seen.
