The golf world is undoubtedly awaiting Tiger Woods’s annual charity event, the 2024 Tiger Jam. But the focus naturally falls on the second night of the whole experience. Aimed at showering the guests with “curated experiences, and epicurean delights,” Saturday Night is set to feature a lot of entertainment, and music, along with a bit of philanthropy. The fans would, however, better know it as the ‘Tiger Jam Auction’.

The auction has managed to raise a lot of funds for the TGR Foundation while leaving unforgettable memories for the guests in attendance. The live and silent auctions at the Tiger Jam have raised more than $20 million as of 2018 and have allowed the winners to bid for a “chance to win luxurious getaways, one-of-a-kind memorabilia, golf experiences,” not to mention the opportunity to caddy for the 15-time major champ.

Every year there have been amazing concerts featured in the Tiger Jam auctions, with Britney Spears, Beyoncé, Toby Keith, and Justin Bieber having graced the stage among others. The event this year, interestingly so, will feature a chance to bid for four tickets to Taylor Swift’s record-breaking ‘The Eras Tour’ in Miami at Hard Rock Stadium on October 19. The silent auction will also include two passes for a Meet & greet with DJ Diesel, better known as Shaquille O’Neal; a Mariah Carey Holiday Show; and a chance to hang out with Steve Aoki after Tiger Jam. These are just some of the tickets that are available for the auction.

Aside from bidding for entertainment, enthusiasts can try to buy experiences, be it from golf or any other sports. One of the most eye-catching items for any follower of Golf would be a chance to carry the bags for Tiger Woods during the Hero World Challenge Pro-Am that is set to take place on December 4, 2024. Moreover, the package would also include a three-night luxury accommodation at Baha Mar along with premium Tournament hospitality for four.

Another item that is up for bidding is the tickets to experience TGL at the SoFi Center. The passes would allow the guest and three others to sit in a player box to watch one match of their choice along with the chance to meet the members of Tiger Woods’s team, the Jupiter Golf Links. The four guests will also be allowed to play a round of golf at a local course and have dinner at The Woods Jupiter. Well, with so many items up for bid at the auction, which is just a part of the whole Tiger Jam experience, it’s no wonder that this year’s event is reportedly slated to be the biggest so far.

Tiger Woods

The Tiger Jam by Tiger Woods is already a big success, per reports

The event has a lot of packages that require the guest to pay 50% of the deposit to reserve their spot. Even with such a condition, two of the three subparts of the ‘Ultimate Vegas Experience’ were already sold out. Only the ‘Tiger Jam reception, concert & Post-Party’ tickets remain while enthusiasts completely bought out the ‘Tiger Jam Golf Outing’ and ‘Poker Night’ passes.

The two-day experience will start on May 31, Friday and will end on June 1, Saturday. The first night will allow the guests to play golf at Shadow Creek amid “live music, lavish hospitality, special guests, and an interactive golf exhibition.” This will be followed by a charity poker event soon after. Saturday night, meanwhile, will host the auction and the rest of the party along with a Maroon 5 show at Dolby Live. Excited about the event? It surely has built up enough hype for the whole community to keep an eye out for!

Will Charlie Woods experience a fate similar to his father’s? Perhaps! However, for now, this fate isn’t about Tiger Woods‘ 15 major wins or his 82 PGA Tour victories. Instead, it’s about the controversy surrounding his father’s brand, Sun Day Red, since its launch. The debate intensified when Woods Jr. wore Nike shoes ahead of the final round at Augusta National instead of the white Sun Day Red kicks his father debuted on Thursday.

Recently, at the Adam Scott Junior Invitational, Woods Jr. and Jacob Trevor Immelman—son of Trevor Immelman, who held off Tiger Woods at the 2008 Masters—were paired together. Undoubtedly, it’s a great sight for both fathers to witness the next generation of golfers competing. However, the same cannot be said for fans on social media.

When @AJGAGolf shared a post on X showcasing both young talents, the post quickly went viral, sparking a heated debate in the comments section. The discussion primarily centered around Charlie Woods’ unique apparel, as he sported a Sun Day Red polo and a Titleist hat.

In addition to the design, the absurdly high costs and lack of the brand’s logo on the products have previously outraged customers. Fans’ criticism of the company continued during the 2024 PGA Championship, claiming that “Tiger Woods’ new clothing line is not sweat-resistant.” This occurred when the 48-year-old was spotted wearing a polo shirt from Sun Day Red. Sweat was pouring down his back, and his clothes had noticeable sweat stains on them. It appears the debate has now shifted towards the 15-year-old.

Charlie Woods

What do fans have to say about Charlie Woods’ attire?

A fan sarcastically commented, “Tiger has his first Sun Day Red athlete,” pointing toward the backlash the brand received for its design from the outset, and later, the high prices further fueled the controversy.

This fan expressed surprise with their comment: “Need someone to explain Charlie wearing a Titleist hat to me.” They highlighted the contrast of the 15-year-old wearing a polo from his father’s brand alongside a hat from a different one. They even brought another equipment brand into the equation and said, “TaylorMade owns a stake in Sun Day Red. I’m baffled!” emphasizing how the involvement of a famous golf brand like TaylorMade has not really helped in the success of the Tiger Woods brand among the masses.

One fan, Charlie Woods, would be a better fit as the face of Sun Day Red. They went on to offer a different perspective, and commented, If Charlie is the ambassador for Sun Day Red then I’ll buy. The outfit actually looks nice.” This fan made a comment not specifically about Sun Day Red but about the combination of different brands that the 15-year-old had donned and said, “Charlie wearing a Titleist hat? Looks odd.

One user sarcastically put forward the question, “How did Charlie get that shirt @SunDayRed?” One of the major criticisms that the Tiger Woods apparel brand faced was the expensive prices of the clothes and other products.

Former President Bill Clinton and golf player Tiger Woods’ relationship reportedly got off to a rocky start. An alleged feud was sparked in 1997 between the two when Woods declined an invitation to attend a baseball game with Clinton to honor Jackie Robinson’s debut in Major League Baseball as the first Black player in the organization. Years later, the two reunited for a golf outing that was reportedly an awful experience, thanks to Woods.

In the March 2018 biography named after the golfer, authors Jeff Benedict and Armen Keteyian claimed Woods was extremely rude to the 42nd President during a casual February 2006 game shortly before opening the doors to the Tiger Woods Learning Center in Anaheim, California. The 15-time major champion, who has amassed an impressive net worth throughout his career, was reportedly on his phone for much of the game and even refused to ride in the same cart as Clinton. Additionally, the book claimed he demonstrated other behaviors typically frowned upon in the golfing community. “After finishing a hole, he would routinely exit the green while others were still putting, a major breach of golf etiquette,” an excerpt claimed. Insiders also alleged that once Woods was sent a photo of him and Clinton to autograph after the outing, he took months to do so. These allegations are in stark contrast to Woods’ version of events, which he detailed months after his day with Clinton.

Woods’ account of the game was much more positive

Tiger Woods was seemingly pleased with his day on the course with Bill Clinton. During a May 2006 Arkansas children’s golf clinic, Woods touched on Clinton’s golf skills from their day out, sharing the final score was “Woods 4, Clinton 3” (via The Ledger). “We had a good time. He was a cool person to play with, very intelligent. Brilliant, the things that he knew to describe world politics … actually really remarkable.” His kind words clashed with the 2018 account of their venture. Representatives for both refuted the book’s account.

Tiger Woods

Doug Band, a former deputy assistant and counselor to President Bill Clinton, who also played with them on the course, denied any such malice from Woods. Speaking with Golf Digest days after the excerpt of “Tiger Woods” was released ahead of the book’s debut, Band firmly stated the account of the game was untrue. “It was a casual, intimate round with a group of people who relished the chance to hear each other’s off-the-record stories and enjoy the day together away from the rest of the world,” Band explained. Woods’s manager, Mark Steinberg, and chief spokesperson, Glenn Greenspan, also released a statement to Golf Magazine that same month, claiming authors Jeff Benedict and Armen Keteyian did not do their proper research, leading to several inaccuracies in the publication. Later, Woods revealed he was also not a fan of the HBO documentary released about him, which was based on the biography.

Clinton doesn’t appear to have any bad blood with Woods

Tiger Woods and Bill Clinton have reunited in the years following their 2006 round of golf. In August 2014, the pair were pictured speaking at the Deutsche Bank Championship Welcome Party, which the Woods Foundation shared on X, formerly Twitter. After the shindig, the golfer himself also thanked Clinton online, writing in an Instagram post that same month, “My Sincere thanks to @billclinton for coming to the #dbchampionship party. His support means so much to me and all the kids we are trying to help.” Even after the biography was released, it still doesn’t appear to have created any issues between the powerful duo.

When Woods secured his fifth Masters Title in April 2019, Clinton was among the many fans online who congratulated the world-renowned athlete. Taking to his own X account, the former United States leader reposted a video of Woods accomplishing this amazing feat. In the caption, he wrote, “Never give up. Congratulations, Tiger.” Both men have only had good things to say about one another publicly. Therefore, whether or not there was ever any tension between them remains mere speculation. Interestingly, Bill Clinton is not the only former president close to the golfer — Tiger Woods also has a friendship with Donald Trump.

The 2024 United States Presidential Election between Donald Trump and Joe Biden is drawing near. And as the nation prepares for the election, some sports stars have already made their opinions about the candidates known previously, and that includes PGA Tour superstar Tiger Woods, who once made his opinion of Trump very clear.

During an interview at a golf tournament back in 2018, Tiger Woods was asked for his thoughts on Donald Trump and he made it clear that he respected Trump as the current president of the United States – just as he would any other president.

“Well, he’s the president of the United States. You have to respect the office. No matter who is in the office, you may like, dislike personality or the politics, but we all must respect the office,” Woods said back in 2018 according to ESPN.

As for his more personal feelings toward Trump, Woods revealed that he knew Trump for “a number of years” previously and had even played golf with him.

“Well, I’ve known Donald for a number of years,” Woods told reporters. “We’ve played golf together. We’ve had dinner together. I’ve known him pre-presidency and obviously during his presidency.”

Obviously, this doesn’t necessarily mean Woods will be voting for him in the upcoming election, but it is clear that he has a pretty cordial relationship with Trump.

And it sounds like whoever wins the upcoming election, Woods will respect them.

At Augusta National Golf Club, where tradition rules and phones are a no-go, the old-school scoreboards are the only way fans keep up with the action. On a gusty Friday, April 12, 2024, during the second round of the Masters, something incredible went down. Around 3:30 p.m., the scoreboard operator at the 18th green put up a name and score that lit up the crowd.

A sequel to golf movie ‘Happy Gilmore’ is reportedly in the works – and Adam Sandler is hoping to land one of the greatest players to ever play the sport for a pivotal role.

During a recent appearance on the Dan Patrick Show , Sandler discussed the possibility of having Tiger Woods make a cameo in the film. “I would love it. We’ll see,” he said of a potential appearance from the 15-time major winner. “I’m gonna write all my dreams and then you never know what’s going to happen. But we’re going to try.”

Woods isn’t the only professional golfer who Sandler has a role laid out for. The actor revealed that John Daly could also be featured in the motion picture, adding that the 58-year-old’s unique antics on the golf course were used as inspiration in the original.

Actor Tim Herlihy, who’s worked on several projects with Sandler, attended last week’s PGA Championship at Valhalla Golf Club, where he spoke to Daly about the film. When asked if he believed the two-time major winner could star in ‘Happy Gilmore II’, Sandler responded: “I would like to think so. I love him. I’ve always loved him.”

Sandler has shared the big screen with sports superstars in the past. Back in 2022, the 57-year-old acted alongside Minnesota Timberwolves guard Anthony Edwards in Netflix’s movie ‘Hustle’.

“Every pro guy, when we were shooting the movie, loved him,” Sandler said of Edwards, who is preparing for the Western Conference Finals against the Dallas Mavericks. “He’s just got something carefree and cool about him, and he wants to win… I love him.”

News of a ‘Happy Gilmore’ reboot was immediately met with an immense wave of hype. Unfortunately for over-eager fans, Sandler conceded that there is still much work to be done on the plot and script.

Rumours of a possible second movie in the series first started circulating in March, when Christopher McDonald – who starred as the movie’s antagonist opposite Sandler’s main character – claimed he’d seen the initial script for the second part.

“Here’s a quick intel,” McDonald said on 92.3 The Fan in Cleveland . “I saw Adam about two weeks ago and he says to me ‘McDonald. You’re going to love this.’ I said ‘What?’ And he says ‘How about that?’ and he shows me a first draft of Happy Gilmore 2.”

The 1996 film revolves around Happy, a disgruntled hockey player who develops a love for golf. Upon learning that his grandmother’s home is facing foreclosure, he joins a tournament and wins the prize money, narrowly beating McDonald’s ‘Shooter McGavin’ character.

Speaking to Patrick, Sandler confirmed that he’d return to play Happy in the second film, which will focus on the golfer “being a little older now and still trying to compete with the youngsters”.

Golf legend Tiger Woods is a proud father of two.

The five-time Masters champion has made a name for himself in the world of golf in the nearly three decades since he turned pro in 1996.

Woods most recently competed in the Masters tournament at Augusta National Golf Club in Georgia in April, and the PGA Championship at Valhalla Golf Club in Kentucky in May.

Nowadays, Woods, founder of the lifestyle brand Sun Day Red with the TaylorMade Golf Company, also plays caddy for his son Charlie, who has followed in his father’s footsteps onto the green.

In March, Woods joined Charlie as he and his high school teammates received their championship rings after winning the 2023 state championship in Florida.

Woods told Golf magazine in a 2022 interview that he aims to both guide and protect his kids as they grow into their own.

“Being a parent, you always want to be the protector and guider of them and teach them skills that they will need in life when you’re not around. And so that’s the most important thing about being a parent,” Woods said at the time.

Get to know Woods and his children, whom he shares with ex-wife Elin Nordegren, to whom he was married from 2004 and 2010.

Who are Tiger Woods’ children?

Charlie Woods

Tiger Woods and Charlie Woods

Charlie Axel Woods was born on Feb. 8, 2009.

Now a teenager, he has been competing on the junior golf circuit.

Charlie has competed alongside his father previously but is making his debut Feb. 22 as an individual competitor in a pre-qualifier event for The Cognizant Classic, a PGA Tour event.

In September 2023, Charlie competed in the Notah Begay III Junior Golf National Championship Last Chance Florida Regional, where he emerged as the winner of the regional qualifier in the boys 14-15 age division with final scores of 71 and 66.

In a post-competition interview, Charlie said it was “great” having his dad right alongside him on the course as his caddy.

“We just stay in our own little world and we just take it one shot at a time,” he told tournament host Ryan Burr.

“He puts me in my place,” he added.

At the national championship in November, held in Louisiana, Charlie tied for 17th place.

The elder Woods has caddied for his son in the past and the father-son duo have also competed together at multiple PNC Championships, most recently in December 2023.

Tiger Woods has previously said he doesn’t formally coach Charlie in golf in order to minimize any pressure his son might feel.

“He just watches me do it, and then he kind of does it,” Woods said of Charlie in 2021.

When Charlie’s high school team in Palm Beach, Florida, won the 2023 state championship, Woods was by his son’s side as he received a championship ring.

Sam Woods

Tiger Woods

Sam Alexis Woods was born on June 18, 2007.

Sam honored her father by introducing him when he was inducted into the World Golf Hall of Fame in March 2022, calling him a “fighter.”

“You’ve defied the odds every time,” she said.

In December 2023, Sam joined her dad on the golf course at the PNC Championship, where she served as his caddie for the first time.

The PGA Tour posted a video on Instagram showing a sweet moment between the father-daughter duo on the course, captioning the post: “For the first time, Sam Woods is caddying for her father today ❤️.”

“Sam was fantastic,” Woods said of his daughter, according to Golfweek. “This is the first time she’s ever done this, so it couldn’t have been any more special for all of us.”

Tiger Woods finished his first round at Valhalla 1-over par, putting him in a decent spot to see the weekend at the PGA Championship.

But two blowup holes early in his second round wiped out any hopes he had of playing Saturday and Sunday.

Woods, at 7-over par, will miss the cut at the PGA Championship.

He has not finished four rounds at the tournament since 2020 and has done so just twice overall since 2013.

The projected cut line when Woods finished his second round was 1-under.

Since Woods finished second in the 2018 event, the tournament has not been kind to him. He missed the cut in 2019 despite winning the Masters two months earlier. Then, he finished tied for 37th in 2020, didn’t play in 2021, then withdrew after three rounds in 2022. He also missed the tournament last year.

Woods parred his first hole, but things went south on the par-4 second. A pitch shot went into the front-side bunker. Then, he airmailed the green into the backside trap. After finally getting on in five, he two-putted his way to a triple bogey.

He three-putted on the par-3 third for a bogey, then recorded another triple at the fourth, a par-4, after getting stuck in more sand.

Woods showed bright spots when he birdied seven and eight, the latter of which he was mere inches from a hole-in-one. But that was the only success he had on the day. He bogeyed 11 and 12 to get to 7-over on the day but salvaged the day with a birdie on the par-5 18th.

He finished the day with a 6-over 77, nearly 24 years after his PGA title at the Louisville course.

It will be just his 13th missed cut at a major, but nine of them have come since 2015. He’s also withdrawn from two.

This comes after Woods finished in last at The Masters. He carded an 82 in the third round, his lowest score ever at Augusta.

The tournament is now headlined by Scottie Scheffler’s arrest early Friday morning as he traveled to Valhalla.

Scheffler was detained at 6:01 a.m. and released just over 2½ hours later, arriving at Valhalla another half-hour after that, 56 minutes before his tee time.

Scheffler was booked into the Louisville Department of Corrections later Friday. He was charged with second-degree assault of a police officer (a felony), criminal mischief, reckless driving and disregarding signals from an officer directing traffic.

And then he shot a 5-under 66 to head into the clubhouse two shots back of the lead.

Tiger Woods missed the cut following a rough second round of the 2024 PGA Championship on Friday.

After wrapping up his opening round with a commendable one-over-par 72 at Valhalla Golf Club, Woods appeared to be trending in a similar direction after recording a par on his first hole.

However, the wheels fell off on the second hole. Woods dropped to four over with a triple-bogey after he dumped his third and fourth shots of the hole into the bunker. The disastrous stretch continued, as he recorded another triple-bogey just two holes later.

While he dealt with some early struggles, Woods was able to get back on track with a pair of birdies on the seventh and eighth hole of the round. This included an incredible shot on No. 8 that nearly resulted in a hole-in-one.

He wasn’t able to keep the momentum going, though. Woods recorded two more bogeys to fall back to seven over and was unable to make the cut. In the end, he carded a six-over 77 in the second round.

Fans and athletes alike were disappointed by the final result after a promising opening round:

Tiger Woods has always played to win. Since turning professional in 1996, he has won 82 tournaments, including 15 major championships. Perhaps, more astonishing than the victories and majors is the 142-event made cut streak that lasted over a seven-year period from 1998 to 2005, when he was the most dominant golfer that the game has ever seen.

Woods never said he was the greatest. He didn’t need to. “There is no sense in going to a tournament if you don’t believe that you can win it,” he once said.

Yet, coming into the PGA Championship at the Valhalla Golf Club in Louisville, Kentucky, Woods was circumspect about his chances of hoisting his fifth Wanamaker Trophy. Asked about the state of his game, he admitted that he was rusty and that the barrage of injuries had taken a toll on his body. “I can still hit shots,” he said on Tuesday. “It’s getting around is more of the difficulty that I face day-to-day and the recovery of pushing myself either in practice or in competition days.”

When the tournament began on Thursday, Woods, who was making his 23rd appearance in the PGA Championship, performed like the part-time player that he has become over the last several years. On his way to a 1-over par 72, the 48-year-old World Golf Hall of Famer hit a smattering of good shots but hardly kept pace in a first round that saw a record 64 players shoot under par scores.

“It’s just the competitive flow,” he said after the round. “It took me probably three holes to get back into competitive flow again and get a feel for hitting the ball out there in competition, adrenaline, temperatures, green speeds. These are all things that normally I adjust to very quickly, and it just took me a few holes to get into it.”

By Friday afternoon, the tournament had been temporarily upstaged by the early morning arrest of Scottie Scheffler, the game’s No. 1 ranked player, for allegedly disobeying a police officer’s order at the entrance to the Valhalla Golf Club. Looking invincible like the Woods of old, Scheffler settled down after the shock of being handcuffed and hauled off to jail to shoot a 5-under par 66 to go into the weekend with a chance to win his second major of the year after taking the Masters last month. As Scheffler went off to answer questions about spending time in a Louisville holding cell, Woods was starting his round and would need a good one to avoid missing just his 15th cut in 93 major appearances.

Starting his second round two shots off the projected cut of 1 under par, Woods went seven over par in his first four holes to guarantee that he would miss the cut. It’s hard to imagine a worst scenario for a player already battling competitive rust and old age in a game dominated by much younger players. Here he was looking ahead to the next tournament, the next opportunity to show that he could still play at next month’s U.S. Open at Pinehurst, but stuck for five hours on a golf course where he had solidified his legend 24 years earlier in an epic duel with Bob May at the 2000 PGA Championship.

Tiger Woods

Back then when Woods was in the morning of his career, he turned the Jack Nicklaus-designed Valhalla Golf Club into a theater with a two-act play and May as his benevolent antagonist. In the final round in 2000, they matched each other shot for shot, creating a drama unprecedented in televised golf history. Then in the three-hole aggregate playoff, Woods survived to win by one stroke. That victory at Valhalla was the third leg of the Tiger Slam, which climaxed when Woods won the 2001 Masters.

But these are different times in the game of golf. In 2000, the PGA Tour was in the beginning of a period of monumental growth as an outsized talent with a mixed racial heritage was transforming what had long been identified as a country club sport played mostly by white people. To many, Woods was the game and the PGA Tour was his home. Now, no longer the masterful player capable of holding your attention for hours on Sunday with his feats of excellence, Woods has become a senior statesman in the game and a defender of what he has helped to build in the sport over the last 30 years.

As the biggest name on both the PGA Tour Policy Board and the PGA Tour Enterprises Board, Woods has become one of the most powerful figures in negotiations between the PGA Tour and Saudi Arabia’s Public Investment Fund (PIF), which funds LIV Golf. During what is turning out to be a slow and painful exit from competitive golf, Woods is helping to set the direction of the future of the game.

At Valhalla, he took on his new role.

“We’re trying to make the PGA TOUR the best it can be day-in and day-out,” he said Tuesday. “That’s one of the reasons why we have arguments and we have disagreements, but we want to do what’s best for everyone in golf and the TOUR.”

About the PGA Tour’s negotiations with LIV Golf, he said, “we’re making steps and it may not be giant steps, but we’re making steps.”

Easily missing the cut at the PGA Championship after a six-over par 77 on Friday, Woods didn’t take any steps toward reclaiming a place at the top of the pecking order of the best players. At Valhalla, he still commanded the biggest galleries like he did when he won there 24 years ago. Back then, he was looked upon by many as the savior of the game, who gave an inspiring and life-changing sermon on Sunday afternoons with his golf clubs.

That seemingly ubiquitous presence on Sundays is waning, but his star still shines brightly over these players still playing on the weekend on a stage he set for them.
