“He’s Different” Oleksandr Usyk Has No Doubt Who Wins Canelo-Crawford Fight

Talk of a super fight between Terence Crawford and Saul ‘Canelo‘ Alvarez refuses to go away. Fellow pound-for-pound talent Oleksandr Usyk has predicted what he thinks would happen should the two ever meet in the ring.

Former two-weight undisputed champion Crawford and current undisputed super middleweight king Canelo are two of the very best in the sport, which is why boxing fans are so keen to see them come together in the ring.

The weight difference between the two is one issue which makes the fight hard to envisage, but it is still a match-up that the influential chairman of Saudi Arabia’s General Entertainment Authority has stated he is keen to make.

First up, Crawford is making the move up to 154lbs to fight WBA super-welterweight champion Israil Madrimov on August 3 and will need to come through that before any Canelo talk gains real momentum.

Speaking to The 3 Knockdown Rule, Usyk was asked how he saw the Canelo fight going should it happen thereafter.

“I like Terence. He’s a crazy man.

Terrence win. Listen, Terrence is different man. Terrence works on two sides. Right and left, he’s very smart man. He feels distance and space.”

Usyk was then asked if weight might be a problem for Crawford but, for a man who has conquered the heavyweight division against naturally bigger men, his answer may not come as a surprise.

“Canelo big, yeah, good boxer, but I say, Terence. Terence can box him like a big guy.”
