Like it or not it’s just facts.” ‘Bud’ seemed confident as he made the bold statement about the fight. The fight will undoubtedly garner the attention of boxing fans around the world should it be made official. For now, Alvarez will be focusing on his upcoming fight against Charlo, and it remains to be seen if Jermall will be able to achieve a different result than his younger twin. In June 2023, the boxing community anticipated a thrilling showdown between Canelo and WBC mandatory David Benavidez under the PBC banner. However, the excitement took an unexpected turn when Canelo faced Jermell Charlo, leaving fans and pundits puzzled.
Smith, not one to mince words, expressed his frustration, stating, “I’m pretty pissed off. I don’t like it at all. How many fights are you going to have before you avoid giving Benavidez the chance he so richly deserves?”
